The Myers-Briggs test is a self-report inventory designed to identify a person’s personality, their preferences and understand their view of the world. For more knowledge about the Myers-Briggs test I recommend you to read about it more and then come back to this page.

The INFJ’s are considered to be the rarest personality type. They account for only 1–2% of the total world population. No wonder they are very different and complicated to understand. I often found it difficult to understand myself, my behavior and choices were filled with paradoxes but then I took the MBTI test and realized that I was an INFJ which basically reveals why I am like this. Listed down below are some traits that an INFJ can connect with, these are my personal experiences and I think you had similar experiences too.

INTROVERTS WITH TOUCHES OF EXTROVERSION

INFJ’s crave for a connection, the connection may not be physical, it’s a connection at a deeper level yet we are too private. We love people, we love to help them and understand them. But deeper conversations are the talks that we really want. We try our best to avoid crowds, Crowds drain our energy and it often is too overwhelming for us. We love being alone, we love to work alone rather than working in a team. We are a unique combo of introverts who love being alone, finding peace in solace and the friend who will listen to you speak anytime. Sometimes we are too social and easy to get along but the next moment we will totally withdraw ourselves. We are natural loners who are mistaken for an extrovert.

UNDERSTANDING EVERYONE EXCEPT YOURSELF

INFJ’s can easily understand people. We are natural empaths with very high intuition and we are very observant and can study patterns of human behavior easily. We are the human lie detectors and we study the body language of people very well. Yet when it comes to ourselves we find it hard to understand our desires and feelings. We take time to reflect ourselves and figure out our inner desires. We can easily see what’s behind the mask of expression people wear. Often an INFJ gets the feeling “I understand all but no one understands me”. People don’t understand us ,even we don’t understand ourselves.

THE PERFECTIONIST YET PROCRASTINATOR

When an INFJ sets their eyes on something they give their full dedication and effort to achieve it yet we forget minute things. We procrastinate very much, we think about deeper questions like “what happens after we die?”, “can I make the world a better place?” and the quest to find the answer often drains away time. INFJs often push themselves too hard to achieve perfection we can be too harsh on ourselves. We dream to make the world a better place. We love perfection and we thrive to be the best. We have big dreams but questions that no one thinks of matters to us too. We lose time thinking about questions like, “how did creation begin?”, “what is our purpose?”.

PRACTICAL PEOPLE WITH VERY HIGH EXPECTATIONS

We thrive to be in a relationship yet we find ourselves being single. We often set unrealistic expectations for everybody, even ourselves. We love to love, but we do not find the person to love because of our desire to find perfection in everybody. We give a lot to others and we want to be better every day, we cannot stand criticism and it often depresses us. Our desire for perfection results in, us setting higher goals for ourselves. We would love to be the perfect people but in return the other person also will have to be perfect. This attitude can be often harmful.

WE DESPISE SUPERFICAIL THINGS BUT DEEPLY DRAWN TO BEAUTY

We love sophistication. We love every beautiful thing available. We love a beautiful art work or a good piece of music, we enjoy poetry, literature and many other things. But when it comes to people we see both beauty within and out. We love to have a beautiful desk to work or a nicely designed home. We can be considered one of the classiest personalities. We prefer quality over quantity.

I hope you found these relatable.
